This ain't the movies!

Reader beware, if you are expecting the movies to have followed the source material religiously, you will be sadly mistaken. That said, the source material was that good, they used the basis of it for a movie, well several movies really.
This compilation has Thanos as a...well I'm not sure really. He seems to be a good guy at times and at others he's the mortal enemy of the entire Marvel Legion. The main bad guy here is the Magus, the evil half of a character known as Adam Warlock, who is hell bent on obtaining...wait for it...the Infinity Gauntlet! No spoilers as to whether or not he or someone else gets it.
This storyline has nearly every Marvel hero, and a good number of familiar villains, that a fan could as for. Far too many for them to have been included in the movies.
Much of the story takes place in what I can only assume is another reality, with the Marvel gang and Thanos, attempting to reach the Magus before he can obtain the Infinity Gauntlet. As it turns out, they have been playing right into his hand this whole time.
The Magus appears after Adam expels his good and evil sides to become a logically thinking deity. This unleashes his evil persona and that is when mayhem ensues. The Magus created doppelgangers of the Marvel heroes, albeit distorted versions, and sets them loose against earth's defenders.
Battle after battle ensues and eventually...well, you'll have to read it for yourself. The artwork is incredible and pairs us nicely with Jim Starlin's storytelling. Seriously, the artwork is pretty awesome.
I am including the artists here so as to not let any readers of this review miss out on the great talents that helped with this series.
Ron Lim, Ian Laughlin, Al Milgrom, Jack Morelli and Christie Scheele
